Earrings Every Day...who are we kidding?

Has it really been 6 days since my last pair of earrings?  Sadly, i think so.  But bowing to popular demand - i think one person said they missed reading the blog! - forthwith a new post.

I also have to confess that i am spending aLOT of time watching Merlin.  Whewwwwwww!

Today's pair are interesting for a couple of reasons.  One, the glass beads were made by Melissa.  Her inspiration for the black and white pattern was a strand of black and white glass trade beads recently purchased from our favorite African bead trader.  We think the beads might be "old" trade beads.  Maybe.  Maybe not.  In any case, they are beautiful!  I haven't quite decided but they may not be for sale...

The second thing is that Melissa's beads don't match.  They're both black and white, but the pattern on each is different as is their size and shape.  While my projects aren't generally what serious designers call "matchy matchy", i do play on the symmetrical team and i like my designs to be fairly straightforward.  (I don't have to think so hard!)  So given all that, i kept the design simple.

By Jove, i think i've got it!

Supplies:
(2) lampwork beads
(4) 4mm Swarovski bicones in chalk white
(2) headpins
(2) kidney ear wires

Thread a bicone, a lampwork bead and a bicone on a headpin.
Make a closed loop, wrapping the wire loosely around the neck.
Slide the completed dangle onto the ear wire.
Repeat with remaining stuff.

Easy breezy lemon peasy!
